Under the guise of ‘Ozawa’, Alan G. Webb has been spinning
electronically-inclined music since 1999. In reality, he has been
playing with records since receiving his first turntable, a Fischer
Price, and his first record, ‘Tubby the Tuba’. Growing up under his older
brother's musical influence ( 80's hit radio ), he developed
an obsession with rap music, making mix-tapes from radio and music videos.
While enjoying a brief stint as first trombone in the high school jazz and
concert bands, the pull of lo-fi d.i.y. drew him to take up the bass
guitar and make noise with friends in various groups such as ‘Liquid
Navjot’ and ‘The Magic Laps’, featuring guitars, drums, bass, clarinet and tablas.
Through his association with Justin sprang the wabi collective, along with
fellow collaborators Alex Martin, Jin Kim, Sean Wainsteim, and later, Tom Kuo, and later
still, Arv Slabosevicius. With wabi, Alan has had the opportunity to
play alongside artists such as Mum, Mouse on Mars, T.Raumschmiere, Pan
American, and Manitoba, and continues his work as an integral part of the collective.
The supesharu project allows him to focus on producing music and releasing the music
of like-minded souls.
